REPRESENTATIVE NETBALL

Albury Netball Association is passionate about giving opportunities and developing young Netball players of our region. Our coaches are accredited and work to improve players abilities as they make their way through the Netball Victoria pathway.

Representative Netball includes age groups in Under 17, 15, 13 and 11s. We encourage girls to trial even if you have never played representative Netball before, it’s all about learning and gaining experience.

The representative season commences February and goes through until June with players training once a week, participate in the Albury Autumn Monday night competition and travel around the region to play in around 5 carnivals to compete against other representative towns.

Playing representative netball exposes players to being talent identified for Netball academies whilst meeting new friends in a positive learning environment.

REPRESENTATIVE NETBALL Q & A

How long does the Representative season go for?

Training commences in late January/early February with all training and carnivals completed by June of the same year.

What commitment is involved at a Representative level?

Representative players are required to:

  • Attend 1-1.5hr training a week, typically on a Monday or Wednesday night

  • Participate in the Autumn Monday Night ANA competition

  • Compete in approx 5-6 one day carnivals around the region (held on a Sunday)

If my child plays other representative sports and/or is involved in other commitments, can they still try out for ANA?

Yes. ANA understand that children and teenagers have a range of commitments in their busy lives. ANA pride themselves on being inclusive to all players. Whilst ANA is willing to be flexible to other commitments, it is an expectation that players commit to the program and are available for ALL carnivals. Exceptions may apply in specific circumstances.
